Southern Thailand faces more heavy rain on 29 October; Bangkok still risks gusty storms
Thailand’s Meteorological Department forecasts continuing southern rainfall on 29 October 2026. Its 06:00-to-06:00 outlook identifies isolated very heavy rain in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani and Phuket. Gusty thunderstorms remain possible in central Thailand, Bangkok and the eastern region.
Accumulated rainfall matters alongside individual downpours. Foothill communities, waterways and lowlands should follow local flood and landslide alerts. The department attributes the pattern to an Andaman low-pressure cell, easterly winds and high pressure extending from China.
Additional heavy-rain areas include Phetchaburi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung and Songkhla on the eastern coast, and Ranong, Phang Nga, Krabi and Trang on the western coast. Bangkok’s forecast maximum is 34–35°C, with gusts possible during storms.
Boats should avoid thunderstorms in both the Gulf and Andaman Sea, where waves may exceed two metres. Check updated conditions before travelling. This report uses the 29 October daily forecast; it does not automatically extend the previous day’s numbered warning.
