JPM Coin Expands to Ethereum for Institutional Deposit Transfers
J.P. Morgan announced on October 19, 2026 that Kinexys has brought JPM Coin, ticker JPMD, to Ethereum alongside its existing availability on Base. The expansion gives institutional clients another public blockchain for transferring tokenised US-dollar deposits.
The bank says institutions transacting in digital and tokenised real-world assets want cash available on the same infrastructure as their assets and counterparties. The service is intended to support liquidity, settlement and institutional treasury workflows.
JPM Coin is a bank-deposit token. The announced service targets eligible institutional clients. Its ticker does not establish a general retail token sale or confirm access for every user in Thailand.
Blockchain-based transfers still involve technology, key-management, eligibility and jurisdictional risks. The announcement does not establish that ETH or any other asset will rise in value.
