Mastercard Launches Stablecoin Security to Assess Payment Risks Before On-Chain Transfers
Mastercard introduced Stablecoin Security at Money20/20 USA on October 19, 2026, with Borderless.xyz and Keyrails as initial partners. The service is designed to help financial institutions identify payment risks before funds move on-chain.
It combines payment information with blockchain intelligence, examining transaction context, source of funds, restricted-party exposure and scam indicators. Outputs include a risk score before completion, helping institutions decide whether a payment needs further review.
Delivered through a platform-agnostic API, it is designed to fit existing fraud, compliance and case-management processes. Mastercard says the initial launch is in North America, with worldwide commercial availability expected in 2027. That timetable does not confirm immediate availability at Thai banks.
Risk intelligence is not a guarantee against fraud or loss. Stablecoins retain issuer, redemption, technology and regulatory risks.
