Kraken Plans to Replace 176 Native Trading Pairs; Existing Orders Will Not Migrate
Kraken’s October 27, 2026 status notice describes a migration of 176 native trading pairs to synthetic pairs. Affected markets enter cancel-only mode on November 6 at 14:00 UTC, or 21:00 in Thailand. The linked support notice was updated on October 26.
Remaining orders will be cancelled between November 6 and 9, with replacement pairs listed by the end of November 9 under the announced timetable. Users should check the actual affected-pair list. This is not removal of every Kraken asset or market; margin pairs are excluded.
Kraken says balances are unaffected, but existing orders will not migrate automatically. Synthetic pairs execute through two underlying markets sharing a common currency, rather than using a direct native order book.
Current synthetic-pair rules support fully filled market and limit orders, with a taker fee even for limits. Users should review those conditions when managing their own orders. Crypto volatility and liquidity risks remain; the migration is not a reason to buy or sell a particular asset.
