นาวี พิลเลย์ หรือ Navanethem Pillay นักกฎหมายจากแอฟริกาใต้ ได้รับรางวัลโนเบลสาขาสันติภาพประจำปี 2026 จากการประกาศเมื่อวันที่ 9 ตุลาคม คณะกรรมการโนเบลนอร์เวย์ยกย่องบทบาทของเธอในการส่งเสริมสันติภาพและกฎหมายระหว่างประเทศ
พิลเลย์เคยเป็นข้าหลวงใหญ่สิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งสหประชาชาติ และทำงานในศาลระหว่างประเทศหลายแห่ง รวมถึงศาลอาญาระหว่างประเทศสำหรับรวันดา คณะกรรมการระบุว่าการทำงานของเธอช่วยพัฒนาหลักกฎหมายว่าด้วยอาชญากรรมร้ายแรงและความรับผิดของบุคคลและรัฐ
สำหรับผู้ติดตามข่าว Nobel Peace Center จัดกิจกรรมอธิบายรางวัลวันที่ 10 ตุลาคม เวลา 12.00–13.15 น. ตามเวลา CEST หรือ 17.00–18.15 น. ไทย โดยประกาศว่าจะถ่ายทอดสด ส่วนพิธีมอบรางวัลกำหนดวันที่ 10 ธันวาคม ณ ออสโล การได้รับรางวัลเป็นการยกย่องผลงาน ไม่ใช่คำตัดสินแทนศาลในข้อพิพาทแต่ละคดี
Navi Pillay wins the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for advancing international law
South African jurist Navanethem “Navi” Pillay has won the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the award on 9 October, recognising her work for peace and international law.
A former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Pillay has served in several international judicial institutions, including the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. The committee highlighted her contribution to legal principles addressing grave crimes and accountability.
The Nobel Peace Center has announced a livestreamed discussion on 10 October, from noon to 1:15 p.m. CEST, equivalent to 5–6:15 p.m. in Thailand. The award ceremony is scheduled for 10 December in Oslo. The prize honours a career; it does not replace judicial rulings in individual disputes.
