Spurs Beat Coventry 3–1 for Their First League Win as Kulusevski Returns
Tottenham Hotspur earned their first Premier League win of the season by beating Coventry City 3–1 at home on October 19, 2026 UK time, in the early hours of October 20 in Thailand. The club’s report places Spurs 16th after moving off the bottom.
James Maddison opened the scoring in the first half before Jack Rudoni equalised after the interval. Omar Marmoush restored Tottenham’s advantage, and Ben Davies added a stoppage-time goal to secure the three points.
Dejan Kulusevski also returned as a late substitute after 526 days away from competitive action. Spurs reported a warm reception from supporters. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi praised the players’ response and their determination to pursue victory after conceding the equaliser.
Ending the winless league run gives Spurs a chance to reset, with returning players and goals from different positions providing encouragement. A single result is only the first step in rebuilding their league position; consistency in the next fixtures remains the central test.
