US SEC advances a tailored crypto framework as Solana Summit draws attention
The US Securities and Exchange Commission is moving forward with Regulation Crypto Assets, a proposal intended to create a dedicated framework for certain investment contracts involving digital assets.
SEC materials describe two possible registration exemptions: one covering offerings of up to $5 million over four years and another allowing up to $75 million in a 12-month period, subject to disclosure and investor-protection conditions.
SEC Chair Paul Atkins and Commissioner Hester Peirce are scheduled to appear at Solana Summit: Washington x Wall Street on September 14. The proposal remains under consideration and should not be treated as a final rule or as investment advice.
